"LADYSHIP: A dynamic, original and thrilling musical...With an intriguing book and exceptional, gorgeous music."-- Theater Pizzazz
LadyShip, a new musical based on true events. Is it a crime to survive?
Convicted of petty crimes and sentenced to journey to a land they had never known, teenage Irish sisters Alice and Mary are forced to make the treacherous crossing from London to Australia in 1789. With a contemporary alt/pop score by Linda and Laura Good of the band the Twigs, Ladyship reminds us that whether in the 18th century or now, this story is all too familiar — when given no say in their lives or the world around them women will always find their own voice. Based on true events, this is the harrowing story of the 25,000 women who would become the “mothers of Australia”, whether they wanted to be or not.

The Twigs latest Twigs' single. "Flying Kites on Christmas Day" is a dreamy, lush pop song about Laura's first Christmas in Australia, tinsel-trimmed bikinis and beach included.
The Twigs started out as darlings of the Chicago alternative pop scene in the late 90’s. A move to the west coast in 2000 launched their careers together and apart, as musicians, producers and songwriters. Their CD “The Universe Tonight” was produced by Grammy Producer of the Year nominee, Johnny K. Several of their songs from their well-reviewed CDs have been heard on major radio stations across the country, and their music continues to be heard in television and film around the world. They have headlined live shows at many top venues, including House of Blues, Mercury Lounge (NYC), and have won many awards for their original music.
In their solo projects, Linda has toured as a keyboardist with Jane's Addiction, The Mars Volta and Lisa Marie Presley, in addition to composing for film/TV and producing records for other artists. As a music producer, she has produced records for The Shaker Sisters (from which the song “All Night Through” was heard on HBO’s mega hit True Blood), and Brandon Jay aka Quazar (composer for the hit Netflix show Orange is the New Black.) She released a self-produced solo album, Love is a Curious Thing (2009), which hit Top 5 on KCRW. Laura's solo projects include the electronic duo Lars Darvo, and is working on serveral commissions and new work.
