NEWS 2005

The Twigs’ new CD, “You Say Ah” has just been released.  Twin sisters Laura and Linda Good weave together their trademark harmonies and quirky lyrics into modern cosmic pop.  Adulterous neighbors, holy visions and flirty aliens all happily co-exist in The Twig’s unusual universe on this 5-song EP. It was recorded all over the world -- from Sydney, Australia to Hollywood to New York City -- all on the sisters’ respective Mac G4 laptops. Guest appearances include Pete McNeal (Jem, Cake), Joe Berardi & Marc Doten (00Spy Car), Gerald Menke (Mercury Rev, Super Furry Animals), Greg Collins (Gwen Stefani, Tracy Bonham) and Dan Carlson. “You Say Ah” mixes distorted guitars with vintage keyboard lines and lucid mellotrons underlying The Twig’s intriguing tales of envy and ecstasy.

It’s no wonder an alternative edge has crept onto the new CD, considering their individual work with some of the hardest rock bands out there. Linda’s side projects have included playing keys touring and recording with The Mars Volta (Universal) and Lisa Marie Presley (Capitol).  Before that, she toured with Jane’s Addiction on their 2001 reunion tour. Meanwhile, Laura was living and traveling around Australia and New Zealand, writing and recording as she went, collaborating with several Aussie music stars including radio darlings Lazy Susan and techno wizards b(if)tek. Yet still, the lushness of the sister’s voices floats above it all in a Brian Wilson-like vocal dream. The Twigs will be playing selected dates in support of the CD through the year.
